Here’s the latest news concerning the battle for Mosul, Iraq from the BBC.

Recent civilian casualties in the offensive against ISIS/ISIL forces entrenched in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul have occurred as families fled from Hawija west of the city of Kirkuk.  Civilians are caught in the middle of an Iraqi army campaign to wrestle control of Mosul from insurgent forces.

On Saturday, 05 November 2016, Iraqi troops and special security teams swept through settlements on the Tigris River just south of Mosul. Currently, Iraqi forces are battling insurgents in the eastern portion of Mosul.
