The geopolitical experts at Stratfor Intelligence have issued a stunning new report on the rise of Russian Ultra-Nationalism and its growing threat to Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.
Stratfor makes these observations:
“The rise of Russia’s far right will undermine the Kremlin’s attempts to overcome the deepening ethnic, class, and religious divides” in Russia.”
“The ultra-conservative movement will continue to grow, thanks to its media influence and militant youth groups.”
“Moscow will work to curb these forces it has supported in an effort to ensure that they do not challenge the Kremlin writ.”
These ultra-nationalistic groups, including the well-known “Nadi” organization consider themselves the “saviors” of Russia by opposing liberalism, communism, fascism, and Islam. Recent polls show that up to 70 percent of Russian citizens oppose Islam and consider it a threat to Russian culture and the Orthodox Christian religion.
The coming years will be challenging for Russian Federation President Putin as these ultra-conservative groups become more popular and effective in delivering their message.
